Each day, Malaysians generate more than 15,000 tonnes of food waste and most of it ends up in landfills. When waste in landfills decompose, it releases methane, a greenhouse gas (GHG) that contributes to global warming. Additionally, when the decomposing waste comes in contact with water, leachate is formed. This highly toxic liquid is harmful to the environment and human health.
With this in mind, WEIMAR works to reduce landfill waste by actively promoting the conversion of organic waste into compost in the midstream industry. In doing so, we provide local municipalities with a feasible and cost-effective way to lower landfill waste, while meeting the growing demand for organic soil enhancers and fertilizers. We also encourage and work with our upstream customers to set up their own on-site organic waste composting machine.
From industrial composting machines to household composting units, we provide composting solutions for both businesses and households alike.
